Porto chances of signing Alfredo Morelos fading

Porto’s chances of signing Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos are fading away as each day passes, according to O Jogo.

The Colombian is currently stuck in isolation upon his return to Scotland from the COPA America this summer.

It is reported by the Portuguese outlet on their website this afternoon that Morelos will still miss the opener against Livingston on Saturday.

As things stand, it looks more and more likely that Morelos will be playing in the blue shirt at Ibrox this year.

It has been another year of the Colombian being heavily linked with an exit away from Glasgow, but the Bears have stood firm.

Lille and Porto have both tried, and it looks as though both will have failed.

Steven Gerrard has a wealth of options available to him, and these free transfers arriving means the budget hasn’t been hit too much.

If any clubs come in and pay the money that the Bears are demanding, Morelos would leave – it is that simple.

Where it gets complicated, is clubs such as Porto offering the money with many clauses and add-ons, which isn’t good enough.

The Portuguese club may have Morelos as their number one target, but they aren’t coughing up money as though he is.

Morelos will miss the games with Livingston and Malmo due to his isolation, but he should be back and firing the week after.

With hopes fading of any move to Portugal, that should end these exit rumours for yet another window.
