Ciaran Dickson on trial at Burnley, plays against Rangers B team

Ciaran Dickson has been pictured playing for Burnley against the Rangers B team after being released by the Scottish champions.

Burnley’s Under-23s beat the Gers 4-2 at Auchenhowie on Wednesday with a number of trialists in their side, as confirmed on the Scottish club’s official website.

Among the trialists was Dickson, as spotted in the image below.

It didn’t take long for Dickson to find himself a club who’d hand him a chance.

He’s not signed for Burnley yet and is only playing for the Premier League club on trial but it does look as though they’re willing to take a good, hard luck at a player who the Gers released this summer.

Dickson’s story at Ibrox has, unfortunately, been a bad one.

In January, he signed a new contract that extended his stay at Ibrox until 2023 but just months later, that deal has been torn up.

Last month, The Sun reported that Dickson had been cut loose by the Gers due to an issue behind the scenes that led to him falling out with the club’s management.

The Athletic journalist Jordan Campbell then added that the issues surrounding Dickson arose when he failed to turn up at training.

We’ll probably never find out why that was the case but it’s not a good look for a young talent who’d been offered a massive chance at the Scottish champions not so long ago.

Hopefully he can turn a new page at Burnley, if they do end up signing him.

We fully expect someone to snap up the young midfielder this summer though as he’s someone who was highly rated at Ibrox.

In other Rangers news, it could take a tribunal for the Gers to sign this English striker.
