Barry Ferguson: Rangers could sell Glen Kamara for £7million
Barry Ferguson has insisted that it would be hard for Rangers to turn down bids of only £7million for Glen Kamara.
There has been plenty of Premier League interest in his services, with Watford and Brentford the latest two names [Daily Mail].
Kamara has admitted he would love to remain at Ibrox, with a new deal being one of the biggest talking points of the summer.
Writing in his Daily Record column, Ferguson also admitted that Alfredo Morelos may join him in leaving Ibrox.
“Similarly, having snapped Kamara up for £50k,” he said.
“Which might be the most ridiculous pound-for-pound signing the club ever made – it might be difficult to knock back offers of around £7m for a guy who walked into the Euros in a Finland shirt and looked as if he belongs at that level.”
£7million? Is Ferguson having some sort of laugh?
That would be a ridiculous offer to accept, regardless of how much Rangers paid for the Finland star, it has to be more, possibly even double that figure.
Shining at EURO 2020 against some of Europe’s best only heightens his price-tag, not just the interest in him.
Rangers fans wouldn’t forgive the board if Kamara was sold for so cheap, even if a replacement is signed for the same figure.
The midfield maestro has mastered the game in Scotland and will be pivotal in retaining our title and succeeding in the Champions League.
We can accept someone such as Alfredo Morelos leaving, which has been discussed for many years, but Kamara is so much more important, he can’t be allowed to leave.
