Alex McLeish urges new contract for Rangers star Glen Kamara

We’re delighted to welcome former Rangers manager Alex McLeish as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Ibrox…

Alex McLeish has urged Rangers to seal a new contract for superstar midfielder Glen Kamara this summer.

The Finland international has shined at EURO 2020 and has attracted interest from numerous Premier League clubs [Daily Mail].

McLeish believes his performances over the summer will have increased his price-tag even further for interested clubs.

Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, McLeish said, “It will obviously increase Rangers’ value of him.

“If one of the English teams come calling for him, so I would say that Glen should stay for one more year and have another good season.

“He can make an impact in Europe, and then he could wait for a bigger club.

This simply has to be the number one priority this summer, and everyone around the club will know it.

Watching Kamara glide around the pitch for Finland against nations much bigger than his country was phenomenal, and it just proved how much of a superstar we have on our hands.

McLeish will know how hard it is to secure the future of your best players, especially when other clubs are interested, so we must move quickly.

Steven Gerrard will know just how important Kamara is, and he will surely be working hard to get this over the line.

Hopefully, we can expect an announcement soon with the EUROs fantasy of Finland coming to an end in the last week.
