Rangers star Borna Barisic hit with crippling EUROs injury

Rangers star Borna Barisic has suffered a crippling back injury while away with Croatia at the EUROs.

The Ibrox left-back was a notable absence at Wembley yesterday, as he missed the 1-0 defeat against England.

It has been suggested that Barisic could miss the entire tournament, which will no doubt be a major blow.

Speaking after the clash with England via the Daily Record, Croatian boss Zlatko Dalic shared the major blow.

“He did an MRI scan today so we will see exactly what the situation with him is over the next few days,” he said.

“It is a problem for us, especially against Scotland when he would be at home. We will have to see his results then we will know more about his status going forward.”

Steven Gerrard will be watching and biting his nails, as this injury is clearly something that started at the end of last season.

Despite missing the final two Scottish Premiership games, Barisic was still handed the opportunity big his country.

It may have been better for him to miss out completely, especially given that he has now been sent for an MRI scan.

The issue hasn’t been identified fully, and playing during that could make it an even longer absence for the Croatian.

We cross our fingers that isn’t the case.
