Rangers fans don’t want to see Bongani Zungu back at Ibrox any time soon with the midfielder’s loan deal at the club now over.

Zungu, 26, joined the Gers on a loan deal from Amiens in October. According to The Scotsman, that loan deal featured a clause that when trigger would make the South Africa international a full-time Rangers player for £2.5million.

Zungu’s loan contract doesn’t technically end until the end of May and that means his permanent transfer clause is still active.

However, our panel of Rangers Super Fans are praying that doesn’t happen after an underwhelming campaign in Glasgow this season.

Here is what they had to say:

Zungu made 20 appearances in all competitions for Rangers but most of those saw him come off the bench as a substitute.

In total, the South African midfielder made four starts for the Gers and only two of them resulted in wins.

One win was against Falkirk in the BetFred Cup while another was in the Europa League group stages versus Lech Poznan. His other starts were in the dismal 1-1 draw with Hamilton in the Premiership – arguably the Gers’ worst league performance – and the BetFred Cup defeat to St Mirren.

When Zungu has started, the Gers have not done as well as they have been expected to.

And when he’s come off the bench, although he’s shown in spells he can be a decent player, he’s not been anywhere near as good as the other midfielders at Ibrox.

For £2.5million, we’d be expecting a lot better so we really don’t think Zungu will ever be seen at Ibrox again.
