Steven Gerrard confirms Rangers injury update v Aberdeen

Steven Gerrard has confirmed his Rangers team news ahead of the Scottish Premiership clash against Aberdeen on Saturday afternoon.

The Bears can hit 100 points and seal their invincible status by avoiding defeat, and they will have to do that without numerous players.

Borna Barisic missed the 3-0 win at Livingston and looks likely to be missing once again at Ibrox this weekend with his injury problem.

Confirmed on the Bears official Twitter account this morning, Scott Arfield could hand the Gers a major boost by returning to training.

“Arfield is training this morning, an outside chance for Saturday,” he said.

“Barisic is unlikely to feature. Other than that the team news is the same as the other day.”

Sigh of relief.

Despite Joe Aribo deputising brilliantly at left-back against Livingston, we would be much more comfortable with Calvin Bassey in there.

The youngster has served his suspension for breaching COVID-19 protocols earlier in the season and could be thrown back in on the biggest day of the season.

Arfield being back would also be brilliant news, as the Canadian has had rotten luck with injuries all season despite playing a big role throughout.

Gerrard will be unlikely to risk the midfielder, but being back in the squad for the matchday where we lift the title will be a special moment.

Every last player in this squad have played a massive role in this success at Ibrox, and they all deserve to be in the action on the day where we could make history yet again.
