Peter Martin hits back at Rangers fan live on PLZ YouTube show
Peter Martin has hit back at a Rangers fan live on air during PLZ’s latest edition of the Football Show this week.
Discussing the Scotland squad for the European Championships, Celtic’s David Turnbull was mentioned, something that didn’t sit well with one Bears fan.
Martin savaged that suggestion and claimed that they needed to stop wearing rose-tinted glasses and open their ears to the conversation.
Speaking on PLZ’s The Football Show, Martin hit back at the Bears fans and slammed his way of thinking during the show.
“Peter, you’re trying your best to get Turnbull in,” he said.
“He was absolutely invisible against Rangers. I’m not quite sure Robbie if you, you need to open your ears and listen to the context of the conversation.
“This is a decision for Steve Clarke, a dilemma over two or three players. We wait and fund out, try and just keep an open mind on football, rather than allowing yourself to wear rose-tinted glasses.”
Martin is taking this very much to heart, but Celtic’s squad clearly are on a losing streak.
We’re hoping that it doesn’t affect the Scotland squad too much going into such a massive competition with the likes of England in our group.
Steve Clarke will be desperate for that winning mentality in his squad, and that is something that has been nowhere near our near rivals all season.
Ryan Jack would be guaranteed a spot in the squad if he was fit, but it is Clarke’s job to find a suitable replacement for that role.
Turnbull likely isn’t the answer to that, and we hope that Martin’s words don’t come back to haunt him once the tournament arrives.
