Rangers defender Filip Helander has hit back at reports claiming he was set to leave Ibrox in the upcoming summer window.
Aftonbladet have recently suggested that Premier League duo Aston Villa and Leicester City have taken a liking to the Swedish international.
The enforcer insisted that it was just media speculation, and his only thought is the Bears with two years still left on his current deal in Glasgow.
Speaking to Swedish outlet, Fotbollskanalen, Helander hit back at rumours that he was set to leave Ibrox in the upcoming summer window.
“It’s just speculation,” he said.
“I’m happy here and I have two years left on my contract here. That’s really all I’m thinking about. I want to continue to perform well at Rangers and then hope to get to the European Championships this summer. That’s where my focus is.”
McLeish wants £10m+.
Our exclusive pundit and Gers legend Alex McLeish recently responded to those links himself and admitted that bidding should start at £10million should those clubs want to bring him in.
Helander has had his fragile moments this season but has also shined during tough games, including the recent win over Hibernian.
With Leon Balogun possibly out for the rest of the season, this is a real chance for the Swede to cement his spot alongside Conor Goldson ahead of the next campaign.
Ibrox is the place to be right now, why would anyone want to leave? It appears as though a new contract would be more likely than his sale, we’re sure not many would complain at that.
