Chris Sutton has taken a swipe at Rangers on Twitter after Celtic were reportedly named as one of the teams of the decade.

The Daily Record tweeted a story on Friday which claims that “power rankings” see the Hoops placed above Liverpool and AC Milan by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics.

Celtic rank 11th in the list and although it’s solely their achievement and has absolutely nothing to do with Rangers, ex-Parkhead man Sutton found an excuse to make it about the Premiership champions.

He took to his personal Twitter account to respond to the Daily Record’s story by saying: “Are Rangers on the list?”

It’s always about Rangers

What relevance to Rangers have to this?

At the start of the last decade, the club suffered a huge financial disaster and was forced to drop to the fourth-tier of Scottish football.

In our absense, Celtic dominated the top-flight and after a few years of struggling to win cups, started to find their way under Brendan Rodgers.

Since Rodgers’ exit, they’ve got worse and worse and Rangers have now overtaken them as the best team in Scotland.

We’re three months in 2021 yet Sutton wants to, for some reason, make the Gers relevant to Celtic’s achievements in the last decade?

What is he doing?

Why can’t they just celebrate something that has nothing to do with Rangers without making it about us?

It’s just a petty dig at a club that has absolutely embarrassed Celtic this season – although we haven’t embarrassed the Bhoys anywhere near as much as they’ve embarrassed themselves.

What a tragic excuse of a club.

In other Rangers news, Slavia Prague’s chairman has issued an apology on Twitter.
