We’re delighted to welcome former Rangers manager Alex McLeish as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Ibrox…
Alex McLeish has claimed that Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos looks like a “different player” after his recent troubles.
The Colombian international has twice been banned by the SFA this season but has bounced back in terrific style in the past two months.
McLeish heaped praise on Steven Gerrard for the role he has played, with every player appearing to push in the same direction at Ibrox.
Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, McLeish said, “He looks a different player.
“Much more disciplined, you don’t want any harm on other players enthusiasm and what he brings to the team and his spirit and personality.
“Every one of the players are heading in the same direction as the manager.”
Morelos has been phenomenal since his ban after the Hibernian game.
The Colombian has been the driving force behind most of this success, with the likes of Kemar Roofe injured and Cedric Itten failing to fire.
All of this fortune doesn’t come without outside suitors, though.
Morelos has recently admitted he would jump at the chance to move south of the border to the Premier League should the opportunity arise this summer.
McLeish clearly doesn’t want that to happen, with this new-found disciplined version of El Bufalo one for any opposition to fear in all competitions.
