We’re delighted to welcome former Rangers manager Alex McLeish as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Ibrox…
Alex McLeish has lavished praise on Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos after the 1-0 win against Livingston on Wednesday evening.
The Colombian was in the middle of the controversy but stepped up with the all-important winner five minutes from time at Almondvale.
McLeish has been thrilled by his weight transformation this year, labelling him a “machine of horror” for opposition defenders in the SPFL.
Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, McLeish said, “I see a more athletic-looking Morelos now.
“People were speaking about his weight, was he looking overweight? He looks like a machine now, he’s a machine of horror for the opponent.
“Last night, it was the right place at the right time, that strikers’ instinct. He’s starting to get those easy goals and that what great strikers do, looking back at great Rangers strikers of the past like McCoist.”
Morelos was at the heart of everything for the Bears last night.
After being booked for adjudged simulation, the Colombian could have seen his head go down, but he got the last laugh when tapping home the winner.
McLeish is spot on too, his transformation has made him even more dangerous; take his role in the Ryan Kent goal against Antwerp as the main example.
The night ended with El Bufalo topless in the dressing room dancing to Sweet Caroline, he knows that the title is coming home.
In other Rangers news, the Bears have appealed the caution handed to Alfredo Morelos
