TalkSPORT host and Celtic-mad Alan Brazil has confessed that Rangers can win the Europa League after their 9-5 aggregate victory over Royal Antwerp.
The Light Blues booked their place in Friday’s round of 16 draw after another pulsating performance in the second-leg at Ibrox where they ran out 5-2 victors.
They could now face Italian giants AC Milan in the next round or one of the three English sides left in the competition (Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal).
Speaking on talkSPORT’s ‘Breakfast with Alan Brazil’ [6am, 26/02/21] the ex-player-turned-pundit said: “It’s very difficult for me because you know where my colours are.
“Steven is doing a brilliant job, no doubt about it.
“I hope Rangers draw one of the big boys from England, I think it will be great to look forward to.”
Asked whether Rangers can go the distance and win the Europa League, Brazil admitted: “You never know in cup knock-outs, you just don’t know.”
Six games to glory
It is always satisfying to hear a Hoops fan admit defeat.
Fair play to Brazil for acknowledging our brilliance but it has got to the stage where it is pretty much undeniable as we are at the end of February and the Gers have lost just once this season.
Let that sink in.
One defeat [in the League Cup v St Mirren] since we began the current campaign all the way back on August 1 v Aberdeen.
30 undefeated in the Premiership and still fighting fit in Europe, it is the stuff of dreams.
Can we bring home the Europa League? You bet we can.
Manchester United, Arsenal, Milan… bring them all on, we’re waiting.
