Rangers are investigating an alleged breach of protocol that took place on Saturday night, and fans are naturally not happy with the players involved.

The club gave a short statement that revealed very little, stating only that an investigation will take place.

Rumour has spread amongst the fanbase however and two players have been named by The Athletic as the potential offenders: Calvin Bassey and Nathan Patterson.

Like the Autumn culprits Jordan Jones and George Edmundson, the pair have spent most of the season on the sidelines.

They have both been part of the first-team and have made 17 appearances combined.

If true, they have let down Steven Gerrard, the coaching staff and their teammates as they have undermined what has been a brilliant season.

Many fans are outraged with their actions and rightly so.

Now the squad may have to isolate and our Europa League tie against Royal Antwerp could be jeopardised as a result.

That is simply unacceptable so supporters are right to call for harsh punishment for those involved – even selling or releasing them from the club.

Rangers did exactly that with Jones and Edmundson departing Ibrox on loan last month.

Here is some of the reaction to the news, which is the last thing we need after all of our good work this campaign.
