Rangers 24-year-old ruled out for rest of the season – report
Rangers defender Nikola Katic has been ruled out for the rest of the season, according to the Daily Record.
Katic, 24, hasn’t kicked a ball all season after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury in pre-season training in the summer but it was initially thought he’d be back in action in early 2021.
However, the Record now claims that Katic will sit out of the rest of the season to recover from his serious knee injury.

That’s why we signed Simpson…
On Monday, Rangers swooped in to sign English centre-back Jack Simpson from Bournemouth after initially agreeing a pre-contract deal.
The 24-year-old was already going to be a Ger at the end of the season but agreeing that deal on deadline day means he’s now in Steven Gerrard’s squad and ready to play as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, it seems that Simpson’s early arrival might have been down to this huge setback for Katic.
George Edmundson’s loan exit to Derby meant that Gerrard had just Connor Goldson, Filip Helander and Leon Balogun as his centre-back options. Two injuries or suspensions at the same time would have been a major issue.
Getting Simpson in covers that potential problem as the Light Blues aim to see out their 55th Scottish title, progress in the Scottish Cup and reach as far as they can in the Europa League knock-out stages.
Simpson hasn’t played a lot of senior football in his career but we’re bound to see him a few times between now and the end of the season.
In other Rangers news, the Gers have released this young midfielder.
