'Gives me the fear', 'What are you doing?' - These fans slam 'slack' Gers ace at h/t v Celtic

A number of Rangers fans were distinctly unimpressed by Leon Balogun during the first half of Saturday’s Old Firm derby against Celtic.

The Nigerian came back into the team in the place of Filip Helander, despite the latter keeping a clean sheet against St Mirren last time out.

Balogun suffered a few shaky moments in the opening minutes of the game, nearly gifting Celtic a golden opportunity to take the lead with a mistimed clearance.

It was not a great start to the game for Steven Gerrard’s side, with Celtic dominating much of the early possession.

Rangers struggled to gain a real momentum to begin with and looked nervous at the back.

If it was not for the brilliance of Allan McGregor, who was forced to make a number of impressive saves in the first 45 minutes, Rangers may have found themselves behind by a few goals at Ibrox.

It was an uncharacteristically poor performance from Balogun, who has been excellent for the Gers this season.

With an average WhoScored match rating of 7.10 this season, Balogun was surprisingly poor during the first half against Celtic.

Gerrard would have been less than impressed with what he saw in the first 45 minutes and the Gers have a big second half coming up.

These Rangers fans have been sharing their reactions on the defender and plenty were less than impressed.
