Many Rangers fans have blasted Borna Barisic after his mistake led to a Motherwell goal during the first half of Saturday’s Scottish Premiership match.

Callum Lang opened the scoring for the away side early in the first half and Barisic was heavily criticised for his role in the goal.

The Croatian full-back failed to stop the cross that led to the goal as the Gers found themselves in the unfamiliar position of being behind in the league.

Barisic looked lethargic and made a poor attempt to block the initial cross before an unmarked Lang put his side ahead.

It was the worst possible start for Steven Gerrard’s men after the mid-week defeat to St Mirren and the Ibrox side will have wanted to start quickly themselves to quell any nerves.

Gerrard will be disappointed with the lack of commitment that Barisic showed in the early stages of the game especially from a player that he can usually count on.

Rangers are relying on Jermain Defoe, Kemar Roofe and Ryan Kent to get their side back in the game after such a poor start.

Some Gers fans claimed that their side has conceded similar goals this season and that the defence needs to improve on their defending of crosses.

Many fans must be concerned that the goal could cost the club their unbeaten record in the league and if that loss does come today, it will be bitterly disappointing if it is because of such a soft goal.

Here is how some Rangers fans reacted on social media.
