Ryan Kent and Ryan Jack share the same first name but that is about as far as the similarities go between the two Rangers players.

But Sky Sports have managed to confuse themselves by reporting in their preview for the Benfica game that both players are doubts for the Europa League showdown at Ibrox.

On Wednesday morning, Steven Gerrard told the media that Jack, 28, is a doubt for the match.

And to be fair to Sky Sports, they got that right in their preview, saying that “the Scotland midfielder picked up a knock during Sunday’s 4-0 win over former employers Aberdeen”.

But whoever pieced together the story then went on to upload an image of Kent and say that the 24-year-old winger is a doubt as well, as shown in the screenshot below.

Sky Sports just don’t care for Scottish football, do they?

In terms of coverage, BT Sport are miles and miles ahead of Sky and these constant mistakes by the broadcasting giant proves it.

In August, loaned-out Ger Jamie Murphy was listed as a Welsh player when coming off the bench for Hibernian.

Hibs have also had a Hearts badge put next to their name on Sky Sports News.

And who can forget a couple of years ago when a Dundee United badge was used for Dundee as Sky said Kilmarnock were playing Patrick, Dundee United and Dundee all at once in one shot.

Oh, and if that wasn’t bad enough, Celtic’s badge has featured on a Rangers starting line-up.

It’s quite the rap sheet for what is meant to be the biggest sports broadcaster in the country.

And this latest mishap just continues to show that Sky Sports really don’t have a clue what they’re doing when it comes to Scottish football.

We really wish that BT Sport had sole coverage.

In other Rangers news, fans are worried about this first teamer’s injury blow.
