Rangers might be cruising against a depleted Aberdeen side at half-time, but that hasn’t stopped a number of fans from blasting Alfredo Morelos’ first-half display at Ibrox on Sunday.

Morelos, 24, is in a battle to win back the affection of Rangers fans due to the on-going speculation surrounding his future at Ibrox and fact he’s suffered a major drop in form throughout 2020.

The Colombia international has shown signs of being able to get back to his best with goals against Lech Poznan and Benfica in the Europa League but the ex-HJK striker is still yet to score on a consistent basis in the Scottish Premiership.

It seems that Morelos has to score to win the affection of some fans on Twitter because although it was a rather steady half by the Colombian, he was torn to shreds by some supporters because of a misplaced pass.

Yes, Morelos did put his team-mates under pressure by losing the ball at one point but guess what? That was just one point.

Leon Balogun also put his side in trouble at one point but you don’t get anywhere near the reaction because Morelos is someone who fans don’t have a high tolerance for mistakes with.

Let’s hope El Bufalo can silence some of these doubts after the break because some of the criticism, in our opinion, is very unfair.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Morelos is Rangers’ best striker.

We know that he can score goals for fun and we’re backing him to get on the scoresheet in the second half against the Dons.

In other Rangers news, the Gers could be forced to shell out a seven-figure fee to Mike Ashley.
