The only downside of this season has been the COVID-19 backlash placed on Rangers due to the actions of Jordan Jones and George Edmundson.
On the pitch, the Bears have been in top form, and are yet to lose in any competition – only conceding three goals in the league.
Rangers had managed to keep quiet while the likes of Celtic and Aberdeen were struggling to keep their players in check off the pitch.
That all came crashing down when Jones and Edmundson effectively ended their Ibrox careers by going to one unnecessary gathering.
After being stood down by the club, the Scottish FA have now handed the duo seven-game bans which will come into play immediately.
This shouldn’t affect Rangers too much, given that neither of the duo actually played that big of a role in this success surrounding Ibrox right now.
It should only affect the players, who will more than likely be looking for new clubs in January, and if not then, definitely in the summer.
Many Rangers fans have reacted to the breaking news, with the majority agreeing that both should be punished for what they did in the middle of a pandemic.
Where the disagreements come is in the difference in punishments.
Celtic’s Boli Bolingoli travelled to Spain in lockdown and didn’t test when coming back, and only got a three-game ban, so there were calls for more consistency.
Ibrox News have picked out some of the best reactions below…
No issues with that at all as a Rangers fan. They got what they deserved and I still hope the club sack them for putting the whole season at risk, kick them out.

Was that the same punishment the Celtic and Aberdeen players received? Thanks.

Not a massive issue. They have rarely been in the team this season and look at our position 🔝 🇬🇧

Deserved and will never play for the club again but why were the previous players let of lighter ?

Fully agree with the ban. However, where is the consistency? Celtic and Aberdeen players?
— Colin George (@Colin_George) November 19, 2020
One thing that is consistent is the consistency of being unconsistant constantly

7 games takes them right up to the Celtic game 🤣

No issue with that, other than the fact the lack of consistency is staggering.
