Reliable journalist: Rangers Europa opponents suffer striker hamstring blow

Standard Liege striker Jackson Muleka has suffered a hamstring injury and will be out for between four to six weeks.

Rangers fans will know all about Muleka after he hit the bar in the first Europa League group game last week.

Athletic journalist Jordan Campbell delivered the injury news and said that he would definitely miss the next two group games.

The best aside of his prognosis would see him return for the next game against Rangers on December 3. However, that’s only five weeks from now and the likelihood is that he won’t be match fit even if he is back in action.

Standard play Benfica tonight and are looking for their first points after losing to Rangers last week.

Benfica beat Lech Poznan 4-2 last week to go top of the group above Rangers on goals scored.

Both Benfica and Rangers are short-odds favourites to make it two wins from two tonight.

Bookies have them at 1.4 to keep their winning Europa starts going at home.

And next week, Rangers travel to Benfica in what’s likely to be a defining game in the group.
