‘Doesn’t look like the same player’ – Si Ferry expresses int’l ‘worry’ about Rangers talent
Si Ferry has claimed that Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack “doesn’t look like the same player” when he features for Scotland.
The Ibrox favourite featured in the 0-0 draw against Scotland on Thursday evening, but came in for criticism from a lot of supporters after putting in a relatively lacklustre display.
But Ferry has questioned to what extent below par performances from the likes of Jack and Liverpool ace Andy Robertson are down the players themselves, and to what extent manager Steve Clarke has to shoulder the blame.

Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show, he said: “That’s my worry with Steve Clarke.
“When you think about our better players from the likes of Celtic, Rangers, Liverpool, Manchester United – the way they play every week is forward-thinking football. It’s attacking football.
“When you watch them on Thursday, Callum McGregor does not look like the same player he does for Celtic. Ryan Jack doesn’t look like the same player he does for Rangers. The biggest one is Andy Robertson.
“That’s my worry.”

Does Ferry have a point here?
Absolutely he does.
In fact we at Ibrox News made a very similar observation about the disparity between Scotland’s style of play compared to Rangers’ earlier in the week.
The national side registered over 20% less possession than Rangers have averaged this season, and attempted just shy of 200 passes fewer.
It’s little wonder, therefore, that a player like Jack, whose whole identity is built around his dependable distribution in the centre of the park, is going to suffer.
Yes, he has to take some of the responsibility for his display against Israel, but Jack is not completely at fault here.
