Report - Rangers plot swoop for West Brom starlet Tulloch
Rangers are keen on signing West Brom striker Rayhaan Tulloch, according to the Scottish Sun.
A report from the national outlet suggests that the Gers are eager to make a move for the teenager, who is out of contract at The Hawthorns this summer.
The starlet has made quite the impact at Albion this term, scoring nine goals in 14 Premier League 2 outings, and making three first team appearances in the FA Cup.
It is understood that the Baggies are still hopeful of tying Tulloch down to a new deal, and will offer him more senior minutes in an effort to convince him to stay in the midlands.
But Steven Gerrard is said to be encouraged by the fact that the youngster has not committed his future to his boyhood yet, and sees him as a player who can bolster his firepower in next year’s title race.
The Gers could face stiff competition for Tulloch’s services from Premier League outfits West Ham and Brighton, however.
Would Tulloch be a good signing for the Gers?
Bringing in a player who has very little senior experience is always going to be gamble, but there’s no doubting Tulloch’s potential.
Nine goals in 14 outings is some return, even at reserve team level, and so far this season he has a higher dribble success rate, higher shot accuracy rate, and higher xG rating than Gers loanee Florian Kamberi, as per Wyscout.
If he does become available on a free this summer, he could prove to be an absolute steal for whichever team is fortunate to snap him up.
The hope will be that the Gers can persuade him that he will be given a greater opportunity to prove himself in a first team environment north of the border, and if they can do that, they could have a real talent on their hands for years to come.
In other Rangers news, Gers confirm exits of six players as 20/21 preparations begin.
