Rangers could be in for a pretty rough January if they’re not careful.
The Gers are operating at the highest level they have for quite some time after ending the first half of the season on a major high at Parkhead, but the players that have helped them into position are reportedly coming for a lot of attention from watching clubs across the continent.
Glen Kamara, for instance, is said to be attracting the interest of a whole host of English sides, as per the Scottish Sun, while Alfredo Morelos is understood to be a target for Everton, as per Football Insider.
And it doesn’t end there.
According to Borna Barisic’s agent, as per the Scottish Sun, Italian giants Roma are interested in his client.
But the Athletic journalist Jordan Campbell has suggested that any interest in the Croatian has yet to be acted on.
Writing in a Q&A for the outlet, he said: “No contact so far as I’m aware.
“Barisic is loving life in Glasgow and has really come into his own. It took him a while to understand the environment but he now knows he needs to be at it 100% of the time and I think you can see that with how much more purposeful he is running with the ball.
“I think if a big side were to come in Rangers would be wanting at least £6/7m for Croatia’s first pick. That’s probably a conservative estimate if he can continue this form.”
This is definitely positive news for Rangers, with Barisic arguably having established himself as the best left-back in the country right now, a view shared by Andy Walker, as per the Scottish Sun.
Even getting £7 million for him would feel like a loss, especially given how rampant he has been in recent weeks down that left hand side.
Here’s hoping nothing comes of this, as Campbell is hinting towards, and that we see Barisic in that Light Blue jersey come the end of the month.
