Richard Gough reveals what he ‘loves to see’ from Rangers first teamer
If you’d been asked to guess who would end up being Rangers’ goalscoring hero at Parkhead last Sunday, it might have taken you a little while to name Nikola Katic.
The Croatian centre-back is hardly prolific in front of goal, but he took his opportunity with great aplomb when it presented itself to him against the Hoops.
His emphatic headed effort could end up becoming one of the iconic moments of this title challenge from the Gers, and there was no way in hell that anybody was stopping the 23-year-old from getting on the end of that Borna Barisic corner.

And his finish more than caught the of former Ibrox favourite Richard Gough.
Speaking to the Scottish Sun, the legend revealed that he even saw fit to message the defender after the game on Sunday.
He said: “I keep in touch with Niko Katic and I sent him a message after the game congratulating him on the victory and also his goal. I just texted him saying, ‘I would have been proud of that one myself’.
“I always felt I was aggressive in both boxes and Katic is too, which I really love to see.
“It’s been difficult for him at times since joining Rangers, he’s not had things all his own way.
“I said he’d remember that goal for as long as he lives, because there aren’t many Rangers players who have scored winning goals at Parkhead. When he’s an old man swinging on his chair he can tell his grandchildren about it.”
Gough is absolutely right too.
That goal will go down as one of the greatest moment of Katic’s life, no doubt about it, and it will love long in the memory for the player and fans alike.
Here’s just hoping that come the end of the season we can look back on it with even greater significance.
