Ryan Jack blown away by 'Fantastic' Rangers teammate it is 'Great to play alongside'

The experience of Steven Davis has been vital for Rangers in the past couple of years at Ibrox.

So much so, Steven Gerrard made the decision to give the 34-year-old a fresh contract recently which will see his future secured in Glasgow.

You can tell how much a player is respected by the reaction of his fellow teammates, and Ryan Jack has recently showered the Northern Ireland international in praise.

Speaking in the build-up to Thursday’s clash against Kilmarnock, Jack singled out his fellow midfielder for massive praise.

“Davo’s been excellent since the start of the season,” he said in the press conference.

“His form’s been excellent. He’s been playing very well and it’s great to play alongside him. That’s why the staff build the squad because as soon as we get an injury or we get a suspension, somebody’s going to need to come in and step into that role.”

Davis has already made 13 appearances in the Scottish Premier League this season, and his experience will be vital should the Gers manage to overturn Celtic’s run of dominance in recent years.

Rangers have managed to keep up with their bitter rivals up till now, but it is important that they don’t get too far ahead of themselves – something that Davis will surely play a massive role in.
