It’s surely no exaggeration to suggest that Alfredo Morelos is one of the hottest strikers in Europe right now.
The Colombian has hit 27 goals in all competitions already this season, as per Transfermarkt, and he has firmly established himself as a key figure and fan favourite at Ibrox.
Understandably, given his record in front of goal, there are persistent rumours about a potential exit for the South American, as per the Scottish Sun.
But according to former Gers ace Craig Moore, it is imperative that Morelos remains in Glasgow.
Speaking to the Football Daft podcast, the Australian said: “It’s important, it’s a must actually that Rangers keep Morelos. I don’t think they can let him go.
“What is he 23 now? If he’s still scoring goals and he’s 24 then they’ll still get £20, 30, 40million, whatever they’re going to get for him.
“If you let him go now and then hope you can recruit a striker that can hit the ground running, which you have to, for me it’s a big risk.”
Moore’s sentiments are ones that will no doubt be shared by the vast majority of supporters, with Morelos probably representing the most prolific attacking talent the Gers have had in many, many years.
So far this term he is averaging a goal every 82 minutes, as per Transfermarkt, not to mention contributing nine assists too.
Those number are quite frankly ridiculous, and no matter who the club would look to bring in as a replacement were Morelos to leave, they would have a very, very difficult task replicating that kind of electric form.
The simplest and surest solution, therefore, is to make sure El Bufalo doesn’t go anywhere.
