The longer Alfredo Morelos continues to succeed at Rangers, the closer his exit from the club with become.
The South American can’t stop finding the back of the net, and big names are being linked with a move for the talisman in both January and the summer.
Morelos scored once again in the 2-0 win against Motherwell on Sunday, as he just continues to hit the headlines every week for the Gers.
Ally McCoist has made a prediction recently about the future of Morelos, and the Gers legend suggested that the Colombian talisman will leave the club at the end of the season even if Jermain Defoe signs a new deal at Ibrox.
“Not necessarily,” he said on talkSPORT, via The Express.
“It means Defoe and Rangers fans are happy. He is happy at the club, he clearly is.
“He’s doing very well, the fact he has not had more game time is because of the form of Morelos.
“I think Morelos will be away in the summer.”
No matter when it happens, losing Morelos will be a massive blow for Steven Gerrard and the club at Ibrox.
Given how Morelos has been playing, he clearly believes in what Gerrard is trying to achieve at Rangers. The fact that the Rangers boss committed his future to the club could also see the 23-year-old do the same at some point.
At the end of the day though, money talks, and should a big offer come in from a top Premier League or European side, they would have to consider it.
