'Outstanding ability' – These Rangers fans react to one player after 1-1 v Porto

The spotlight was on Alfredo Morelos on Thursday night and the Rangers striker rose to the occasion.

He was a yellow card away from a Europa ban but he kept his head and scored the equaliser that sealed a valuable point for his side away at Porto.

Rangers fell behind to Luis Diaz’s 36th-minute goal and it was a cracking strike into the top right-hand corner of the net that left Allan McGregor no chance.

Morelos answered a minute before half-time after a cross from Borna Barisic found him unmarked. He swept the ball into the roof of the net for his 16th goal of the season and his 10th in Europe.

Both sides had chances to win it in the second half but a draw was probably a fair result and it shows the progress Rangers are making under Steven Gerrard.

The point takes Rangers up to second in the group, two points behind Young Boys who beat Feyenoord in the other Group G game.

Some people still insisted on saying that Morelos wasn’t a big-game player but he proved his critics wrong tonight and the Gers fans were loving it.

Here are the best reactions to Morelos’ goal and all-round display tonight:
