Ibrox View: Rangers title odds shortest for almost eight years after weekend results
Rangers are in stunning form in the Premiership. In the last three games, they’ve scored 14 goals and conceded none.
Steven Gerrard’s men have only lost one game all season, the 2-0 loss to Celtic, and boast a perfect record apart from the Old Firm blip.
Celtic, on the other hand, have drawn and lost their last two games and have surrendered the lead to Rangers at the top.
Neil Lennon’s side started the season as big favourites to win nine-in-a-row but those odds have been slashed now as punters start to see what Gerrard’s men are made of.
Rangers are now as short as 6/5 to win the league – the shortest they’ve been since December 2011 – with Celtic narrow favourites at 4/6.
You’d be a brave man to back them at those odds given the last two games and the way that Rangers’ frontmen have started the new campaign.
Alfredo Morelos has scored 14 goals in 18 games, with eight in eight in the Europa League.
Jermain Defoe is the current leading scorer in the Premiership with nine from eight games, including two hat-tricks.
The pair have the two best goal-per-minute scores in the league – Defoe on 39 minutes and Morelos on 79. The next closest player is Celtic’s Ryan Christie on 95 and he was sent off in the 2-0 loss to Livingston at the weekend.
It’s a good time to be a Rangers fan and if Celtic drop any more points in the league you might miss the chance to get a bet on Rangers to win the league at odds against.
The 2-0 defeat to Celtic at Ibrox wasn’t good but things are looking much, much better for Rangers fans right now.
